David Wentworth
Brooksville, FL – It is with profound sadness that we announce the
passing of David Wentworth, who departed this life on August 20, 2025,
in Brooksville, Florida. Born on March 10, 1956, in Franklin, New
Hampshire, David lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his
unwavering love for his family, his humor, and his passion for the
great outdoors.
David was the beloved son of Merrill Willis Wentworth and Mary Agnes
Wentworth. He grew up in a close-knit family and was always known for
his kind heart and infectious laughter. His parents instilled in him
the values of hard work and compassion, qualities he carried
throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Merrimack High School in New Hampshire, David
embarked on a successful career as an arborist, dedicating over 50
years to this profession. His love for nature was evident in his work,
and he took great pride in caring for the trees and landscapes that
enhanced the beauty of his surroundings. His deep respect for the
environment was mirrored in his personal interests, which included
gardening, fishing, and hunting. David also enjoyed playing pool,
often seen challenging friends and family to a friendly game, his
laughter ringing out as he did.
On September 5, 1981, David married the love of his life, Colinda
Wentworth, in Masaryktown, Florida. Their union was one built on love,
respect, and a shared commitment to family. Together, they created a
warm and loving home, where laughter and joy were abundant. David was
a family man in every sense of the word, cherishing his role as a
devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving
wife, Colinda, sister Marie Sherman, brother Eugene “Bud” Wentworth,
and their children: Michelle Wentworth (Ben Levison), and Matthew
Wentworth (Jennifer Wentworth). He also leaves behind his cherished
grandchildren: London Levison, Elaina Levison, Evan Wentworth, and
Mason Wentworth.
David’s life was filled with the love of family, friends, and
community. He was known for his quick wit and humorous perspective on
life, making those around him smile even in difficult times. He had an
extraordinary ability to connect with others, always ready to lend a
listening ear or offer a word of encouragement.
A burial service will also be held at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord
NH on September 29th at 1:00PM
David Wentworth’s life was a testament to the beauty of love,
laughter, and the joy of living fully. He will be deeply missed but
never forgotten, as his legacy continues through the love of his
family and friends.
