For the love of animals
As a 40+ year Concord resident, I now enjoy reading the Monitor online due to an out-of-state move. I am also a life-long lover of all animals, with a lifetime soft spot for the many non-profit organizations such as the SPCA, local rescues, shelters and animal welfare. What I am not is someone who knows all the rules and regulations of the governing bodies overseeing these entities. The informative article written by Rebecca Pereira regarding the stateโs concerns and interpretations of foster care rules and regulations has me somewhat angry. Iโm unable to understand just how tweaking the foster protocol is beneficial to the animals, especially those in need of additional care, such as pregnant females? WHY? Fosters are basically volunteer animal lovers that play an important role for the animals, and the organizations that are desperately trying to help them. It sounds to me like the willingness of these fosters are making their own decisions to become involved and show love and care to a homeless animal.
Iโm guessing the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture has many more pressing issues to concentrate on โฆ please, work TOGETHER with these organizations, they need support not obstacles.
