Florence Gove

Andover, NH – Florence (Clarke) Gove, 103, of Route 4A died Monday,
September 22, 2025 with family members around her.

She was born in North Raynham, MA on July 22, 1922 the daughter of
Raymond E. Clarke and Edith (White) Clarke Rathborn.

Florence attended the red brick schoolhouse on Colby Hill, graduated
from New London High School and earned her LPN from Claremont Voc Tech
College. She was employed by Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, New
London Hospital, William P. Clough Extended Care Center and retired in
1986 from Blue Cross/ Blue Shield.

She had lived in the Andover area most all of her life. Florence was a
member of the Wilmot Congregational Church, the Ivy Guild, a lifetime
member of the Andover Historical Society and served on the Bunker Hill
Cemetery Restoration Committee and the Cilleyville Bridge Committee.

She served in the Women’s Army Corp during WWII. Florence loved to
travel the world and liked to go to yardsales where she would purchase
old items, research them and return them to the towns of origin.

She is predeceased by her husband, Ralph G. Gove, Sr. and her son,
Ralph G. Gove, Jr. Members of her family surviving include two
daughters, Beryl M. Sanborn (with whom she made her home) of Andover,
NH and Karen L. Sanborn of Conway, SC; six grandchildren; many great
grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen
Clarke O’Shea of Hudson, FL and Jacqueline Clarke Gagne of Port
Richey, FL; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 4:30
P.M. in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Wilmot, NH with military honors.
