Are You Good or Evil?
Jason Osborne, House Majority Leader and the highest-ranking Free Stater in office in New Hampshire, puts it in black or white. You are either good or evil. It all depends on your beliefs and what you fight for.
Triggered by the assassination of Charlie Kirk, anyone who questions Kirk’s actions or beliefs is evil. No discussion needed. Osborne seems to be mimicking the Trump administration’s view that you’re either a friend or an enemy. And if we follow the guidance of JD Vance, we should turn our neighbors in for views they define as evil. Is history repeating itself as we saw with the rise of Communism and Fascist Germany where the wrong views got you snatched off the street?
Censorship is underway, ignoring the importance of free speech as a founding principle in the Constitution and as a tool of civic engagement and decision-making. Employers are firing staff members for what they question and even for messaging done on personal time. Feels like Big Brother is watching and it’s not pretty.
It’s time for Governor Ayotte and Speaker Packard, as the highest-level Republicans in the state, to instruct their fellow party members (this means you Mr. Osborne) that all of us have a place in New Hampshire regardless of party. Our strength is in working together, not literally dividing us with the goal of conquering. Remember, more than half of us are not Republicans. Having the loudest megaphone doesn’t make you right.
