Michele Horne is an office manager with the Local IBEW union and volunteer in the Merrimack Valley school district. She has served for one term, during which time she was one of two councilors who voted against approval of the Beaver Meadow Golf Course Clubhouse project. She has also pushed for opening up how members of city boards and commissions are selected and for a paring down of the cityโs pool infrastructure. Ward 2 includes both neighborhoods in both Concord and Penacook and most of River Road. Horne is one of several city councilors with no challenger in her bid for re-election.

Michele Horne

Age: 49
Years living in Concord:ย 22
Top issues: Housing, taxes and spending, homelessness.
Reason for running: โI have upheld my campaign promises during my first two years but am finally learning enough to be more effective in furthering those promises. I believe these next two years will be very difficult for our taxpayers with the loss of federal and state funding, the uncertainty of the outcome of the revaluation process and the proposed influx of very large capital improvement projects. I want to be a fiscally responsible and conservative voice that I feel our city needs at this moment.โ
Key point:ย โI still have high hopes of a more diverse and transparent government. I truly want people that live here to know that their voices are not only heard but that they matter.โ
Most important projects for Ward 2:ย Fire station, police station, Memorial Field
