Samba X hosted its second annual Halloween Street Soccer tournament, and this time, it was played on Capitol St. in Concord, just outside of the State House.
Kids from third to eighth grade filled the street and lawn as music bounced off the brick and concrete of surrounding buildings. Hosted Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., sunlight cut right through the street and illuminated the young talents in the city.
Samba X coach, Chris Pinkham, said that the turnout, location and overall mood were exactly what they hoped to have. As they have grown in prominence in the local soccer community, they aim to continue this yearly tradition of opening up the streets for kids to play.
