Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a driver hit a bicyclist near the Irving gas station on Loudon Road Friday evening and fled the scene.

The cyclist, who police have not identified, was taken to Concord Hospital, where the individual later died.

Concord police and fire were called to the area of 231 Loudon Road, the Irving gas station, at 7:10 p.m. for a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle. When they arrived, they said the driver had left the scene.

They are asking anyone who has information about or witnessed this crash or who was driving in that area between 7:00 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. on Oct. 3 to call Concord Police at 603-225-8600.

Loudon Road was closed for several hours Friday night as police investigated.
