Cara Meeker for school board
My name is Cara Meeker, and I’m running for reelection to the Concord school board, representing Wards 5, 6, and 7. Serving on the board has been a true honor. This is meaningful work that I care deeply about, and I respectfully ask for your vote on November 4.
I currently serve as Board Secretary and Chair of the Policy Committee, and I stay engaged with all of the challenges facing our district. State and federal mandates are driving costs, often without adequate funding. We’re going to have to be proactive and decisive to maintain the quality of education we expect for our students and protect our taxpayers from spikes in the local tax rate. In times like these, experience on the board matters.
On the middle school issue: I voted to ‘Rebuild at Rundlett’ in both 2023 and 2024, and hope to move forward with our latest plan. Parents, teachers, and students are asking us to come together and get this done. With smart budgeting, we can invest in a strong public education system that offers excellent curriculum, enriching extracurriculars, and safe, modern facilities for all students.
