THE ICEMAN COMETH
Evil is stalking our land. Who is that frightened little soul hiding beneath the manly bulk, the heavy boots, the dark mask, the giant weapon — who is spreading evil like blood seeping out of a thousand wounds and blanketing our American ground from sea to shining sea?
When our leaders embrace evil, small souls abandon virtue as well, clinging like magnets to the disease that breeds and swells the great monster. Because the attractions of evil are so compelling, it sweeps up everything in its path and becomes a huge, irresistible wave.
The work of doing good is so much harder. It takes time to grow a great soul.
Have we had enough time? Enough time to know that good can be infectious too? Let’s bring it right down to the local level: one ICE man who will disobey the order, one commander who will refuse to give the order, one soul who will resist the demand from on high to spread the terror and feed the monster! When just one brave soul refuses to smother his soul, that spark can ignite until there is a great wave of goodness that will outswell the evil that seduces us.
It CAN happen here. We CAN turn the tide toward justice, truth and goodness. We can begin by facing our fears and daring to speak out against the many injustices that encage us daily now. Because there is no knight in shining armor to save us from the monster. We must do it ourselves!
