Government Shutdown
Once upon a time, serving in Congress was done gratis as a public service, but since that time, members have feathered their nest so well that membership is now a common path to riches, Most recent example is that they who CAUSED the government shutdown HAVE ARRANGED TO CONTINUE TO BE PAID DURING THAT SHUTDOWN! If their salaries had been cut off along with other government workers as they should have been, shutdown would have been extremely brief!
