Elect Fiscal Responsibility

The City of Concord is at risk of becoming unaffordable for many residents. This situation has arisen due to what is nearing fiscal irresponsibility by both the city council/administration and the school board. Taxpayers in Concord are facing the possibility of significant increases in their tax bills as a result of numerous substantial city projects. These projects include the construction of a new middle school, a new police station, the Beaver Meadow clubhouse, renovations to Memorial Field and a growing list of additional initiatives.

Addressing these fiscal challenges requires immediate action. The most effective way for residents to make a difference is by voting in the Nov. 4 municipal elections for candidates who demonstrate fiscal responsibility. This does not mean candidates who simply oppose spending, but rather those who approach decision-making with realism and prudence.

One such candidate is Bob Washburn, a friend and former city councilor. Bob has represented Ward 4 and served two terms as an at-large member of the council. During his tenure, he consistently stood up for the interests of Concord taxpayers. It is essential to have Bob, and others like him, serving on both the council and the school board to ensure sound financial stewardship for the city.
