A Reckoning
“A time in the future when someone is held responsible for their actions and must face the consequences.” Do enough ordinary Americans want peace enough to insist on a reckoning and hold Biden and Trump responsible for their actions? Trumps loyalists and his militarized police forces have made their choice. Their choice is violence! What choice will the rest of us make? If ordinary Americans choose peace they will have to insist on honesty, integrity, equity and finally justice. And for justice there must come a reckoning. Biden and Trump supplied billions of American taxpayer dollars of lethal military aid to the fascist leadership of Israel. That lethal military aid has been and is still being used for collective punishment, ethnic cleansing, and Israel’s genocidal ongoing slaughter of the Palestinian population. When addressing this policy Biden stated that he is a Zionist. When addressing this policy Trump stated that peace is Israel’s choice. Presidents from both political parties have aided and abetted the slaughter of the Palestinian population. What would an appropriate reckoning, the consequences, be for these horrific actions. Impeachment? For justice the consequences must fit the crime. Do we have the courage?
