Byron deserves a second term

When Mayor Bouley retired, I wondered who would follow such a capable and popular mayor. I, along with many others, was relieved and delighted when Byron Champlin ran and won. We have not been disappointed. We soon realized that we have the right person for these difficult times in our city. He has proven to be a person who cares deeply about people. He affirms them in spite of differences and is a good listener. He has the skill to build bridges between persons who differ on issues facing the city. For example, I know he is concerned and takes into account the impact of the tax rate on some major projects that have to be addressed. Having known Byron for many years, I am sure he agonizes over those issues. He is just that kind of person. For those and many other reasons I will be voting to give Byron Champlin a second term on Nov. 4. I encourage you to do the same.
