Foster homes needed — you can help
When a child enters foster care, it’s because of circumstances entirely beyond their control. It might be due to family crisis, illness, substance use or unsafe conditions at home. Whatever the reason, one thing remains constant: every child deserves safety, stability and love.
Right now, there is a critical shortage of foster homes across New Hampshire. That shortage means that too many children are being placed far from their communities, sometimes even in other counties — because there simply aren’t enough local families to care for them. When that happens, children lose not only their homes, but also their schools, their friends and the sense of belonging that comes from familiar faces and places.
Foster parents make it possible for children to stay connected while their families work toward reunification.
Becoming a foster parent is not easy, but it is profoundly meaningful. Foster families decide the level of care they can provide — whether for infants, teens or sibling groups who need to stay together. Training and support are available every step of the way.
If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time to act. You can make a life-changing difference for a child in your community.
