Concord, NH – The family of Robert “Mac” MacMillan MacLean Jr. announces his peaceful passing on November 2, 2025, at the age of 78. A lifelong resident of Concord, Mac was born on January 30, 1947, to Ruth and Robert MacLean Sr.
Mac served in the United States Air Force for 26 years, dedicating his career to supporting his country. After retiring from the military, he continued that service with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Manchester, where he worked for 17 years. During this time, he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Franklin Pierce College.
For more than 30 years, Mac was an active member of the Masonic fraternity. He served as Master of Horace Chase Lodge in Boscawen from 2006โ2007 and was also a committed member of the Scottish Rite.
Mac is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Larsen MacLean; daughters Heather Jache and Holly Cheney; and grandchildren Sarah Jache and Nathan Cheney. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Phillips and her husband Les of Surprise, Arizona; Betty Burrill and her husband Thomas of Concord; and Deborah Bourassa of Concord. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Patricia Andrews.
Mac enjoyed spending time at the family camp on the Contoocook River, working on projects and appreciating the outdoors. He also loved bowling and looked forward each year to the Scottish Highland Games at Loon Mountain.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4โ6 PM at Bennett Funeral Home, Concord NH. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Bennett Funeral Home, with burial at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
