Concord, NH – Charles H. Hathaway III, 86, of Concord, NH, affectionately known Skip, passed away on November 14, 2025, following a period of declining health.
A graduate of Concord High School, he served in the US Navy on board the USS Van Voorhis and the USS Cutlass. He retired after 37 years as a line supervisor from Concord Electric Company/Unitil.
He loved spending time with family and watching the grandchildren grow, as well as photography, gardening, spending time at the family camp on Highland Lake, and helping others. He also enjoyed hunting in Chichester, which he often referred to as taking a walk in the woods with his gun.
In addition to his parents, Charles and Marion (Sanborn) Hathaway, Skip was predeceased by his sister Ann (Hathaway) Peters.
He is survived by his loving family, wife Carol Hathaway of 56 years, daughters Julie Verde and husband Michael of Barrington, NH and Erin Wormell and husband Justin of Georgetown, MA and grandchildren Grace, Audrey, Dylan, Jocelyn and Alexis and many cousins and nieces.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 4pm to 6pm at the Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, 172 King Street, Boscawen NH. Burial will be at the NH Veteran’s Cemetery in the spring of 2026. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a local Food Bank.
