A Concord man was arrested Sunday morning after being clocked at 130 miles per hour during a traffic enforcement operation on I-93 in Bow.
State Police said Sgt. Jay LaPointe was conducting aerial speed enforcement on the southbound side of the highway at 9:37 a.m. when he spotted a white vehicle traveling at what he described as an “extremely high rate of speed.”
Using the State Police aircraft, LaPointe measured the vehicle’s speed several times, recording 130 mph. He continued to track the car from the air and relayed its location to troopers on the ground.
Troopers later stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as 22-year-old Logan Drew of Concord.
Drew was charged with reckless operation and operating after suspension.
He is scheduled to appear in Concord District Court on January 9.
Penalty for driving recklessly at 100 mph or faster carries a minimum fine of $620 and a 60-day loss of driver’s license. But effective January 1, 2026, the minimum penalties will increase to $930 and a 90-day loss of driver’s license for a first offense.
Sunday’s operation was part of a targeted enforcement effort. During the three-hour operation, troopers recorded 40 violations, including 25 drivers traveling 90 mph or faster. Two motorists were also found to be driving with suspended licenses.
