The Highly Seasoned Artists will exhibit mixed-media artworks at the Epsom Public Library Gallery from Saturday, Nov. 22, through Jan. 10. Each member of the group responded to the theme “Fantastical Flora and Fauna” and created artworks centered on imaginings of plant and animal life.

The works depict the tenacious tendrils of nature that climb, vine, creep and leap amid jungles of color both vivid and camouflage, combining futuristic and prehistoric ideas and incorporating existing flora and fauna that seem evolved from otherworldly realms. These works celebrate the truly fantastic nature of the plants and animals we share the earth with.

The Highly Seasoned Artists is a group of women who gather to make art, explore creativity, experiment with new materials and techniques and discuss their work. The group has met monthly since 2011, and this is their sixth show at the Epsom Public Library.

The exhibit features mixed-media work by Jan Wittmer, Teresa Taylor, Mary Straub, Ann Saunderson, Mary Nichols, Grace Mattern, Kathy Hanson and Donna Catanzaro.
