Candia, NH – Harriet (Munn) Bean, 87, of Candia, formerly of Suncook, passed away peacefully at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in Manchester on Monday, November 24, 2025, after a period of declining health.
She was born on January 16, 1938, in Lebanon, NH, daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Welch) Munn. Harriet was the beloved wife of the late Alfred M. Bean.
She was raised and educated in Canaan before settling in Suncook in 1961 with her family. Prior to her retirement, Harriet worked as the assistant to the director of the department of revenue for the State of NH for many years. She was an active member of the Pembroke Congregational Church and later the Suncook United Methodist Church. In her free time, Harriet loved gardening and enjoying the flowers and birds. She and her husband, Al were both avid snowmobilers, their second home in Colebrook was a local stopover for any and all snowmobilers passing by.
In addition to her parents and husband, Harriet was predeceased by her siblings, Marguerite Shuttleworth, David Munn and Richard Munn.
She is survived by her three children, David W. Bean and his companion, Theresa Convery of Sanbornton, Michael A. Bean and his wife Anita of Sanbornton and Frances Bean and her companion, Cheryl Shepard of Candia; four grandchildren, Jessica Carson and her husband Kevin, Lindsey Kelly-Vail and her husband Sam, Kirstie Bean and Kendra Flint and her husband Josh as well as eight great-grandchildren.
A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10AM-11:30AM at the Suncook United Methodist Church, 152 Main Street, Pembroke. A Service will be held in the church beginning at 11:30AM. Harriet will be laid to rest with her husband at the Wells Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
