A 79-year-old woman caused a three-car crash in Chichester on Thursday when she crossed into the opposite lane at the intersection of Route 4 and Dover Road, according to police.

The woman’s Nissan Sentra, traveling west, collided with an eastbound Chevy Silverado operated by a 23-year-old man. The Nissan was then struck by a Dodge Ram also traveling eastbound as the 66-year-old man attempted to avoid the initial collision, according to Chichester Police Chief Joshua Wright.

Wright did not respond to questions about the condition of the drivers or whether the woman would face charges.

The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
