Looking good, that Trump isn’t doing well

Clearing away paper stacks, I came to Oct. / Nov. 2024 issue of The Progressive. Prior to that significant voting-time for us, came this article, “Trump’s Dark Vision for America.” Artwork has him diabolical with dominoes lined up, ready to fall, finger ready to push.

Listing the topics: mass deportation, political purges, Big Brother everywhere, MAGA-nify higher education, wreck the economy, bring back whooping cough, diphtheria, chicken pox, polio, and more for our nation’s children, reverse efforts to address climate change, end medication abortion, end all reproductive choice worldwide, make LBGTQ+ people disappear, outlaw gender-affirming health care, do nothing about gun violence โ€” except make it worse, order mass executions, eliminate the Deptartment of Education and teachers’ unions, create a government of hardcore Trump loyalists and end representative democracy.

Now we see and feel the end of his first year. How’s he doing? His plummeting approval numbers tell much. Maybe the dark vision out of his melancholic, old head will get us all ready to vote in the 2026 midterms, including our youngest eligible, so they may yet shape their adult-years’ world. Else โ€” we’ll see symbolic as well as real, his selfish destruction of our White House’s east wing.
