Concord, NH – Concord NH – Barbara J. Drost Abbott passed in her home on November 30, 2025, after a long illness, with her family surrounding her with love, now forever at peace.
Barbara was born on December 14, 1934, with a smile on her face that would often shine like the sun, to Lula Goodblood Whipple and Finley Drost in Portage Lake, Maine where the family had worked a potato farm. Later moving to Manchester, NH and spending the last 50 years residing in Concord NH.
She spent 55 plus years running the business, Arthur Abbott trucking and landscaping, with her husband Arthur Abbott. Barbara is survived by her husband Arthur Abbott; 4 sons, Allie, Chris, Johnny, Bobby along with 2 daughters, Teresa and Tina. Grandchildren; Heather, Sabrina, Allie, Alicia, Carl, Bryan, Meagan, Draven, Rayann, Kendra, Skyla, Johnny, Josiah, Kendra-Lynn, Christina, Katherine along with 12 wonderful great grandchildren.
Barbara adored and loved animals throughout her life and could not be prouder of being the mother of Teresa Paradis with husband Jerry, founder of Live and Let Live Farm Rescue & Sanctuary. Barbara often obtained a box of the Live and Let Live Farms yearly rescue calendar, happily sharing them with people she new. Barbara’s other great Loves were country music “nicknamed, Country Girl” and shaking up the party with her amazing dancing. Never afraid to be the first up front on the floor, and the last one dancing (she could have put the energizer bunny to shame).
Barbara’s passion was to get everyone dancing and shaking up the night. Her Favorite band was Alabama, loving the fun and fast songs as well as “Angels Among Us”. She will forever be the Angel Spirit watching over her family and the rescue animals at Live and Let Live Farm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Live and Let Live Farm Rescue & Sanctuary, 20 Paradise Lane, Chichester NH 03258, www.liveandletlivefarm.org
