Douglas R. Mahoney

Flagler Beach, FL – Douglas Mahoney, devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother and uncle, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, surrounded by family. He faced a long illness with courage and quiet strength.

Doug was born in Concord, New Hampshire, to Bernice and Benjamin Mahoney. He attended Concord High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, later continuing his military career with the New Hampshire National Guard and the U.S. Army. He retired in 1998 with the rank of Sergeant Major. Doug also earned college degrees from Franklin Pierce College and UNH Manchester.

Doug married his beloved wife, Carol, in 1971. They raised their daughter, Amanda, in Loudon, New Hampshire, and retired to Flagler Beach, Florida, in 2007. Doug was an avid golfer and proud New England sports fan. He was known in their Flagler Beach community as a kind and dependable neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Above all else, Doug treasured his family. Doug will be missed by his wife, Carol (Brown); his daughter, Amanda Ponti and son-in-law, John Ponti. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Ron and Martha Mahoney, Bob and Linda Mahoney, Sam Mahoney, sister Mary Lou Tanguay, sisters-in-law Barbara Rice and Linda Wright, many loving nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 11, 2026, in Concord, New Hampshire. Please contact the family for details if you would like to attend.
