A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at a barn in Chichester, prompting a quick response from multiple fire departments that quelled the flames in about 45 minutes, but not before the structure was destroyed.

At about 2:50 p.m., the Chichester Fire Department was called to 50 King Road for a barn fire that was near a home under construction.ย

Tim Robinson, Chichesterโ€™s fire chief, said the fire had fully engulfed the barn used primarily for storage.

But the blaze burned the structure and its contents beyond recognition.

The barn was located at the back of the property, with a house under construction in front of it. Workers on the site were unharmed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Hooksett, Concord, Pittsfield, Epsom, Canterbury, Loudon and other departments provided mutual aid.
