The Trump beat never stops
I must begin this week’s rant with an acknowledgement as to how well-prepared members of the current Trump administration were for the start of his second term.
I could have never imagined how quickly an incoming president could have made the significant changes he has. Immigration across our border has nearly stopped (a plus). However, pursuit of those here illegally already has gone beyond what anyone with a moral compass could support (a major negative). Shooting a woman to death frightened out of her mind by black-clad, masked men with guns, just to try to get away … and then the Administration trying to justify it?
Fraud, waste, abuse among government agencies were addressed: Many, many federal agencies bloated with employees, and efficiency was greatly in doubt. However, not a modicum of empathy. How could billionaires have empathy for the working class? Even the working class have families, bills and need to be able to place food on the table. Lack of empathy is defined as “heartless.”
Foreign sphere-of-influence moves … Venezuela? Threat to Greenland? Cuba? Columbia? I fear that this administration, without knowledge nor appreciation of history, is blundering our world into an abyss.
We have just given a green light to Trump’s friend in Russia to continue his assault on Ukraine, and demonstrated to Xi that Taiwan is his for the taking.
