The Renaissance and age of Enlightenment will not die. A report on website “Just the News” by Natalia Mittelsradt highlights recent remarks by Pope Leo:
“At this moment in history, freedom of conscience seems increasingly to be questioned by States, even those that claim to be based on democracy and human rights. This freedom, however, establishes a balance between the collective interest and individual dignity.”
Are we so arrogant in our public debate to broadcast lies, hate and violence where truth is smothered? Are we to tolerate government fraud and willful open immigration where taxpayers are robbed? Facts matter. Truth matters. Communism seeks to undermine and sow dissension between U.S. citizens. Venezuelan socialism led to dictatorship and a 75% collapse of GDP, taking its citizens into poverty. Today, we have a democrat socialist as mayor of NYC on the cusp of taking NYC in the same direction. What political party in the U.S. has sown the seeds of dissension? Facts cannot be clearer for voters. It’s not the party of Harry Tuman or Daniel Patrick Moynihan anymore. It’s morphed into a beast of oppression.
