Keeping us informed

Our democracy is dependent upon an informed citizenry. Our Concord Monitor, with its mission to keep its readers informed about our “public square” — especially in New Hampshire and locally — is indispensable and must be preserved if democracy in New Hampshire is to be preserved.

Nothing could better illustrate than two superbly thorough and balanced reports in the Jan. 17 weekend issue, by Catherine McLaughlin and Charlotte Matherly, that explain in depth, with facts, the Concord City Council’s current tensions and the state’s new law requiring local goverments to permit detached “accessory dwelling units,” AKA in-law apartments, tiny houses, etc.
