The Trump child
Our president is a child. He is stepping up his campaign to seize Greenland by relying, in part, on the country of Norway not giving him the Nobel Prize. One large flaw in his facts and logic is that Norway doesn’t award the Nobel Prize. A Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by a separate committee. It is as if Trump wants to punch you in the face because your third cousin won’t give Trump a piece of his candy bar. At very best, this is “give me what’s yours or I will take your lunch money.” Junior high school anyone?
Trump sees a shiny object and wants to grab it. Never mind that the object is already controlled by one of our NATO allies. Never mind that our NATO promises are to defend, not invade, our NATO partners. Our child-president sees the shiny object and doesn’t care if he has to grab it from a friend.
Trump’s threat to grab Greenland, which has been in Dutch hands since 1721, provides great support to Vladimir Putin by splitting NATO and justifying Putin’s own land grab. If the U.S. can grab Greenland, why can’t Putin grab Ukraine? Also, the Greenland debacle has kept the Epstein matter off the front pages. That may well be Trump’s real rationale.
