Somehow, the end of the month is steadily approaching, although the promise of spring still feels freezingly far away.
We just emerged from the throes of a winter storm that gifted us with over a foot of snow and lots of shoveling. So now that we’ve made it through, it’s time to rejoin the community in the ways we can, while still staying warm and conserving energy, of course!
I’ve been really feeling the chill lately, so here are a few cozy indoor activities to help counteract the biting cold.
Red River Theatres will be hosting two screenings of “The Testament of Ann Lee” in partnership with Canterbury Shaker Village. Both screenings will be followed by a discussion with the Canterbury Shaker Village Museum’s Curator of Research & Collections and Archivist. On Saturday, head to Red River for a 4 p.m. showing, and on Sunday, make sure to catch the one at 10 a.m. For tickets, visit www.redrivertheatres.org.
Celebrate the weekend with some creativity at The Eleventh Letter Writing Gallery in downtown Concord, where Artist-in-Residence, novelist and visual artist Duston Spear will be giving a talk at an opening reception from 5:30 – 8 p.m. on Saturday evening.
For all the foodies out there, Table Bakery, in Concord’s Eagle Square, will be hosting a “Table at Night” event that same evening featuring small plates, wine and beer, live music and more. Swing by from 4 p.m. onward.
And for those of you looking for some fresh air, Concord Parks and Rec is holding a Winter Carnival at White Park at 1 p.m. on Saturday. There will be sledding, ice skating ($5 rentals!) and a bonfire to stay warm.
Hope you enjoy the weekend!
