Another dumb one

State Rep Kelley Potenza (R-Rochester) has submitted a bill, HB 1719, to remove the hepatitis B vaccine from the list of required childhood vaccines. Her bill follows guidance from RFK Jr.’s handpicked anti-vax nutjobs recent change to the childhood vaccine regimen. Hepatitis B is another easily preventable disease that when left untreated can cause liver damage, cirrhosis and liver cancer, amongst other problems. What responsible parent would want that for their children? Every medical organization with accredited standing (American Medical Society, WHO, American Academy of Pediatrics, etc.) says that children should get the hepatitis B shot shortly after birth. I have a BA in history, Potenza has a BA in Communications. Neither of us is qualified to offer medical advice. The difference is, I am smart enough to know it.
