Robert W. Sojka

Millers Falls, MA – Robert W. Sojka, 79, of Millers Falls died Tuesday 2/10/26 at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Greenfield on July 31, 1946, the son of Walter and Sophie (Galvis) Sojka and had lived in Millers Falls all his life.

He began working for the Mass. Dept. of Employment and Training in November of 1968, where he was the Branch Manager in the Greenfield office for many years until his retirement. Prior to that, he worked for sixteen years in the Northampton office and as a manager there for six years. Bob served on numerous community and statewide advisory boards relating to employment, training and economic development related issues.

He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Among his survivors, Robert leaves two brothers, Richard A. Sojka (Laura) of South Deerfield and James A. Sojka (Denise) of Canterbury, NH.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Sophie Sojka.

Funeral services will be held Friday 2/20 at 9:30am from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
