Esther M. Hagen

Hopkinton, NH – Esther M. Hagen, of Hopkinton, NH, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side at home on Sunday, February 8th, 2026.

Born in New Bedford, MA, the daughter of the late Antonio C. Cambra and Eugenia (Alves) Cambra.

Esther was the beloved wife and best friend of her husband, Albert R. Hagen for over 73 years. Their life together was a storybook match made in heaven.

She leaves two children, her daughter, Deborah Norris of Hopkinton, NH; her son, John W. Hagen and his wife Jenny of Gainesville, VA; 6 grandchildren, Anthony Norris,Joseph Norris of Concord, NH, Jennifer Branham of Colorado, Jack

Hagen of S. Carolina, Brett Hagen of Illinois, and Tarahn Aeisi of Virginia ; many great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Alice (Cambra) Soja, and her brother, Antonio C. Cambra, both of Acushnet, MA.

Esther was a loving Wife, Mother, Nana, Great Nana and Auntie who valued and loved spending time with her family and friends, celebrating holidays, birthdays, visits to Cape Neddick, ME and just living life. Her cheery, magnetic personality allowed her to become

friends with whomever she met.

She was blessed with many talents and enjoyed crocheting, cooking and music. Through her many years she worked as a bookkeeper, buyer, library assistant and optometric

Assistant.

Her unwavering faith and indomitable and dedicated spirit kept her strong through many personal and family health challenges and continued to guide her through her 94 years.

A visiting hour will be held on Thursday, February 19th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 158 Old West Hopkinton Road, Henniker, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with a reception following the Mass at the Church.

Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel at the NH Veterans Cemetery, DW Highway, Boscawen.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Arthritis Foundation or to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire.

Mom & Dad’s fur friends were all rescues who became beloved members of our family.
