Edward (Ted) LeClair

Canterbury, NH – Edward R. “Ted” LeClair died peacefully on February 20, 2026.

He is survived by his wife, Susan LeClair; his stepchildren, Brennan Holmes and his wife, Barbara Holmes; Megan Holmes and her wife, Eva Lang; and Nathan Holmes; five step-grandchildren; his brother, Richard LeClair; his sisters, Sharon Stacy and Jennifer Pierce; one niece; and seven nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward R. LeClair Sr. and Bertha (Betty) Hill LeClair Stacy; his stepfather, Richard Stacy; his first wife, Ruth (Riki) Nelson LeClair; their beloved son, Ian LeClair; and his sister, Marilyn Chandler.

Ted earned a Master’s degree in History from the University of New Hampshire. He taught in Brentwood and Claremont, New Hampshire, later owned the Goshen Country Store, and taught social sciences at Claremont Technical Institute. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2014.

Ted loved helping people and delighted in puzzles of all kinds. During his years with the Postal Service, he took special pride in tracking down lost mail and packages for neighbors and friends. Many in the community considered him their favorite postmaster, remembering his dedication, patience, and willingness to go the extra mile. He made ordinary days better.

A funeral service will be held at Canterbury United Community Church, 5 Center Road, Canterbury, on Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m.
