With face painting, games, and pizza, families gathered at the Boys and Girls Club in Concord to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.

The New Hampshire Down Syndrome Association held the event on Saturday, March 21 to spread joy and foster community. World Down Syndrome Day, corresponds to the genetics of Down Syndrome, where individuals have a third copy of their 21st chromosome.

Down Syndrome is the most commonly diagnosed birth condition among gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and chromosomal causes. It affects 2.2 out of every 10,000 babies, according to state data.
