Trump’s rigged election act
It’s Trump’s fault that (1) we have record airport overcrowding that makes (2) those close-packed travelers terrorist targets. Passing his SAVE act or, more accurately, the Rigged Election Act is more important to Trump than airport sanity, travel safety or paying TSA agents. His motive? Rig the midterm election.
Trump fears the midterms will reveal that his government runs on blind arrogance, petty vindictiveness, and dangerous incompetence. He claims elections are not secure, but in 20 years he has offered no proof.
Voter fraud worry resembles meteorite strike worry. Anyone might be hit, but the chances are so miniscule that few fret about them. Do meteorite strikes scare you? Voter fraud will no more change elections than you will be hit by a meteorite. Both outcomes, while possible, are not probable. Trump counts on us not knowing the difference. He buries the probable under the possible and then uses possible voter fraud as a bogyman to frighten us.
Trump’s Rigged Election Act aims to halt elections, kick people off voting rolls, and to infuse fear and doubt into the voting booth. When Trump the Petulant refuses to sign any legislation until he gets his REA, he trades our sanity and safety for his power.
