Lacrosse has grown by leaps and bounds in the Granite State in recent years, especially in the capital region. Look no further than NCAA tournament rosters.
On the women’s side of the game, at least 10 local talents will be playing in national tournaments. Here’s a shortlist of each one with accolades and game schedules for the upcoming weekend.
Division I games will be available on ESPN+, and Division II teams will be available on NCAA websites.
Division I
Concord’s Elizabeth Johnson attended St. Paul’s and has instantly made an impact as a freshman for the Wolverines.
The former five-star recruit was named two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week and Big Ten Freshman of the Week. She currently boasts a .478 save percentage with 138 total saves through 17 games.
No. 7 Michigan will face Mercer at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 8.

Hannah Hoyt, Penn State:
Hopkinton’s Hoyt transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy to continue her lacrosse trajectory. There, she was a two-time All-NEPSAC Class A honoree and a USA Lacrosse All-American.
Her talents took her all the way to the Nittany Lions. The first-year midfielder has four goals and one assist through fifteen games played.
Hoyt will make her NCAA tournament debut with Penn against Stanford at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 8.

Addie Trefethen and Grace Murphy, Stonehill:
Trefethen, a senior at Stonehill from Bow, was a NH Tomahawks product who has made some appearances this year.
Murphy, of the Kearsarge area, attended Holderness School and found her way to Stonehill, as well. The senior was named NEC Offensive Player of the Year and honored on the All-NEC first team this season.
She has 61 goals and 14 assists on Stonehill’s attack. She will be a focus for her team’s success and the opposing defense.
The two will make their NCAA tournament debuts against No. 5 Stony Brook on Friday, May 8 at 1 p.m.

Bohan was another Concord native who emerged with Johnson from a talented 2025 St. Paul’s class. As a first-year attacker, she has 22 goals, three assists, seven ground balls and two draw controls in 17 games played.
Yale will face a local opponent in Boston College at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 8.

Cali Bishop, Florida:
Weare’s Bishop came out of New Hampton School and first went to Louisville to start her collegiate career. She led the Gators last season with 52 draw controls but has made fewer appearances this season.
Florida has the latest start. The Gators will face Denver at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 8.
Division III
Mary Martinson and Brianna Blake, Denison:
Martinson is entering her fourth straight NCAA tournament. The Crimson Tide standout was named NCAC Midfielder of the Year, Third Team All-American, and First Team All-NCAC in 2025.
The midfielder has 53 goals, nine assists and 34 ground balls this season in 19 games. Speaking of consistency, she is approaching the all-time leading record in games played at Denison.
Henniker’s Blake has yet to debut for Denison. She was teammates with Johnson and Bohan at St. Paul’s.
Denison received a first-round bye and will face the winner of Carthage and Transylvania on Sunday, May 10.
Izzy Wang, Colby:
Concord’s Izzy Wang is now a senior at Colby College. She attended St. Paul’s and is a crucial part of the Mules’ defense.
She has 22 ground balls and nine draw controls through 14 games played.
Colby and Wang will face Cortland in round one of the NCAA tournament on Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m.
Alexa Wang, Izzy’s younger sister, also attended St. Paul’s School. The first-year defender has played in 14 games and will be an important rotation piece for the Mammoths.
Amherst received a first-round bye and will await it’s opponent in the second round on Sunday, May 10. Amherst will face the winner of Stevens and St. Joseph’s (Maine).

Ryan Mucci, Husson:
John Stark graduate Ryan Mucci is a first-year midfielder for Husson. She has scored one goal and picked up nine ground balls through 13 games played.
She’ll make her NCAA tournament debut against Gettysburg on Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m.
