Donald Lee Jones

Rye, NH – Donald Lee Jones, 85 of Rye Beach, NH and formerly of Concord, passed away peacefully on April 27th in the loving arms of his wife of 59 years.

Born in Manchester, CT to Ernest Milton and Doris Price Jones he was raised in Ellington and Rockville, CT graduating from Rockville High School in 1958. He was a graduate of Morse Business School in Hartford, Ct., served in the United States Air Force stationed in Darmstadt, Germany and graduated from the American Academy of Funeral Service in New York City. An apprenticeship at Boutwell Funeral Home brought him to Concord NH in 1963 followed by working at Waters Funeral Home. He worked at Village Press Supervising Shipping and Receiving Department and then at Facit as a Purchaser/Materials Management. He retired in 2013 after a 23-year career with SCI Sanmina as a Global Program Manager whose primary client was Phillips Medical in Andover, MA.

He is a Past President of the Concord Jaycees, Past Treasurer of Camp Friendship, and served as volunteer in Probation for the State of NH Department of Corrections.

An avid golfer, gardener and gourmet cook coupled with love of international travel including Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Singapore, France, Italy and Greece brought him much joy and relocating in 2015 to his beloved Rye Beach home which he designed was his happiest place.

He is pre-deceased by parents, brother Richard Jones and Lawrence Jones and grandson Mathew Austin Lee Jones.

He is survived by wife Sandra Perkins Jones and sons, David Jones of Dover, NH, Scott Hartford and wife Melissa of Manchester, NH and Steven Jones of Portland, ME. Granddaughter Marissa Jones, grandsons McGyver Reilly, Bailey Hartford and Connor Hartford. Niece Katherine J. Grant, nephews Steven L. Jones and Kenneth M. Jones.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM immediately following visitation. Donald will be laid to rest in the Central Cemetery, Rye NH.
