Allenstown, NH – Madeleine G. (Bergevin) Clement, 88, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Presidential Oaks in Concord, following a lengthy illness.
Born on January 16, 1938, in Allenstown, Maddie was the daughter of the late Alice (Rivard) and Antonio Bergevin. She was the 12th of 13 children, all of whom predeceased her. Maddie was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert D. Clement, who died in 1991.
A lifelong resident of Allenstown, Maddie was educated at St. John’s Parochial School and St. George High School. She worked for many years for the State of New Hampshire in several divisions.
Maddie was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the St. Theresa of the Rosebush Society. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful parishioner of St. John the Baptist Parish. In her younger years, she enjoyed knitting, watching soap operas, completing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time swimming in her pool. She was also active with the local senior community, where she enjoyed line dancing, card games, day trips, and several cruises.
In addition to her parents, siblings, and husband, Maddie was predeceased by her two sons, James A. Clement and Dennis D. Clement.
She is survived by her four sons, Kenneth R. Clement of Allenstown, Robert R. Clement of Hooksett, John Clement and his wife, Melissa, of Allenstown, and Steven Clement of Hampton; a daughter, Susan Jackson and her husband, David, of Allenstown; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery NEW on River Road in Allenstown.
