Under string lights at Spyglass Brewing Company in Nashua, longtime residents hungry for reliable, bias-free news came out to meet their local journalists.

At the Granite State News Collaborative’s second Publisher’s Crawl event earlier this month, readers and reporters sat together to better understand what audiences are looking for and how local news outlets go about their work.

The Publisher’s Crawl, a new initiative by the Collaborative, made stops in Manchester and Nashua. Now, it’s crawling into Concord: At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, the Monitor will co-sponsor a Publisher’s Crawl gathering at Litherman’s Limited Brewing Company where attendees will meet our staff, including Publisher Steve Leone. Weโ€™ll want to hear about your news consumption habits and what we can do better to fulfill your information needs. The effort is another step for the Monitor and its staff to connect with its readership and give readers a chance to meet us in person.

Attendees will explore the basics: When do you use local news? How do you find out what’s happening in your town? If local news worked perfectly, what would it do?

If you’re already a Concord Monitor devotee, bring a friend or two. We’re especially interested in chatting with folks who find themselves wanting to engage more with local news but are looking for a connection.

Speaking of connections, the Granite State News Collaborative comprises more than 20 media partners across the state. Participating newsrooms, including the Monitor, share content and support one another to strengthen New Hampshire’s local news ecosystem and ensure our own vitality.

The event is free to attend, although registration is required. RSVP at https://bit.ly/ConcordPubCrawl.

Come grab a drink, enjoy some great free food and fill your heart with love for local news!
