Elizabeth Champney Yandrasits
Issaquah, WA – Elizabeth “Betty” Champney Yandrasits, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 19, 2026. She was the devoted wife of Frank Edward Yandrasits for 48 years, who preceded her in death. She was the daughter of Marguerite “Peg” and Alfred “Fred” Champney and the cherished sister of her twin brother Bill and sister Peg.
Born and raised in Concord, New Hampshire, Betty went on to build a life marked by faith, family, service and deep community connection. Her journey took her to Syracuse University where she obtained a registered nursing degree, and later to New York City, Syracuse, NY, Peoria, IL, Houston, TX, Mandeville, LA, Daphne, AL, and finally Issaquah, WA. In every place she lived, she formed lasting friendships and became a fixture in the community.
A devoted Catholic, she attended daily Mass and treasured the fellowship of the breakfast gatherings that followed. Her generosity of spirit was deeply embedded in her life. She volunteered tirelessly through her parish and related organizations, serving as a driving force behind the community prayer chain, supporting the St. Vincent de Paul Society, delivering meals to those in need, and proud of the deviled eggs and pecan pralines she regularly contributed to church events.
She approached life with enthusiasm and a twinkle in her eye. When asked how she was doing, ‘I’m just right’ was the only answer. For many years Betty walked nearly every day, often in the sweltering Alabama heat where she politely declined ride offers from puzzled passersby. She had a kind word for everyone she met and a gift for making people feel appreciated and valued.
Betty’s love for her family was constant and unwavering. She is survived by her children Frank “Fred” (Barbara), Mike (Janette), Beth (Tim), and Tami. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren Eric (Maggie), Henry (Sadi), Bradley (Mandi), Maria, Jenni, Domingo “DJ” (Jamie), and Helen (Caena); and her great grandchildren Chayse, Aulyana, Finnegan, Aurora and Dean.
In keeping with her lifelong commitment to helping others, Betty chose to donate her body to the University of Washington Medical Center, continuing her legacy of service even after her passing.
Her life was a testament to faith, kindness, love and the quiet power of service. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
The Yandrasits family extends their gratitude to the staff and caretakers at Aegis Living Issaquah for loving, compassionate support they provided Betty during the last 5 years.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Betty’s honor (https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E346699&id=59), and please designate to St. Joseph (Issaquah).
