Gaza and Lebanon are humanitarian disasters. Israel’s leaders don’t care that women, children and elderly folks are dying in large numbers due to thier criminal actions. There seems to be no restraint to their hatred. Israeli politician, Yoav Gallant, refers to citizens of Gaza as “human animals.” Israel’s Heritage Minister, Amihai Eliyahu, thinks people of Gaza should “go to Ireland.” Really?
Benjamin Netanyahu continues overkill tactics in Gaza and Lebanon because he knows he has Trump and the U.S. evangelical lobby in his hip pocket. At the same time, the Pentagon has raised its threat level on Israel to the highest level ever recorded due its current, aggressive and manipulative espionage practices.
AIPAC has tremendous influence on U.S. political actions, just ask Ted Cruz. Currently, the United States gives Israel a minimum of $5 billion annually for defense spending until at least 2028. So, we give Israel billions of dollars that could have gone to things here such as free school lunch programs for poor kids. Talk about messed up priorities!
The U.S. taxpayer pays on average $12,000 a year in federal taxes. If you look into the military spending in the budget and do the math, it comes out to roughly $50 per taxpayer, per year, going to Israeli military. I prefer that my taxes go to things that are life affirming rather than funding for killing vulnerable human brings.
