Brian Oschwald

Concord, NH – Brian Thomas Oschwald, 73, passed away on June 4, 2026. A talented and successful painter, he was also a former architect and preservationist whose work reflected both a deep appreciation for beauty and a lasting respect for history and craftsmanship. In addition to his accomplishments in the visual arts and architecture, Brian was an accomplished Celtic musician with a gift for bringing traditional music to life. He played the Irish harp, tenor banjo, octave mandolin, mandolin, tin whistles, wooden flute, various bagpipes, and bodhrán drum, sharing his love of music with those around him. Brian was the beloved husband of 37 years to Elise Selden Dann. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Oschwald Zuckerman; his brother, Dallas Oschwald; his mother, June Protheroe Oschwald; and his father, Gordon Oschwald, Sr. He is survived by his brother, Gordon Oschwald. Brian will be remembered for his remarkable creativity, his dedication to preserving beauty in many forms, and the rich artistic and musical legacy he leaves behind.
