Denouncing the horrors of socialism?
In November 2025, Representatives Goodlander and Pappas voted for a House resolution that bizarrely condemned “socialism” and “socialist policies” in the U.S. (H.Con.Res. 58). In their campaign materials, however, they both claim they’ll defend Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans’ Benefits, aid to education and affordable housing among other “socialist” policies. What I haven’t seen is concern over “socialist policies” anywhere on their campaign webpages. So, what’s going on?
Call their offices and ask them: Why did you vote for H.Con.Res.58 – Denouncing the horrors of socialism? Do you support socialist programs for our elders and veterans and children or not? Who are you, really?
We need politicians who are authentic, principled and honest. Talk is cheap. How a politician actually votes and legislates is all that matters. The rest is just political theater. Goodlander and Pappas have some explaining to do.
