Concord, NH – Kathleen Ann (Lynch) Murray, of Concord, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at Concord Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following a period of declining health. She was 81 years old.
Born on January 1, 1945, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Kathleen was the beloved daughter of the late George and Ruth Lynch. She grew up in Dorchester and graduated from Cardinal Cushing Central High School in South Boston.
Kathleen was the youngest of four children and shared a special bond with her twin brother, William Lynch. Family was the center of her life, and she treasured the relationships she shared with her siblings throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her twin brother, William Lynch; her sister, Lorraine Calabro; and her nephew, Mark Calabro.
She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Souther and her husband, Michael, of Loudon, New Hampshire; her son, Brian Murray of Manchester, New Hampshire; and her brother, George Lynch of Green Valley, AZ. She also leaves behind her four beloved and treasured grandchildren: Erin Cayer and husband Kyle of Northfield, NH; Kevin Ryan and wife Caitlyn of Melrose, MA, Colleen Pease and husband Eric of Franklin, NH and Kaitlin Meredith and husband Benjamin of Warner, NH.
Kathleen was also the proud and devoted great-grandmother of eight cherished
great-grandchildren: Sophia Pease; Brennan and Bridgette Cayer; Liam, Elliot, and Kennedy Ruth Inman; and Connor and Kaleigh Ryan. They brought her tremendous joy and were among her greatest blessings. She referred to them, often as her “babies”.
Kathleen was an extremely hard worker whose life was defined by her devotion to those she loved. She was a dedicated daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and
friend. Her strength, kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family touched countless lives and will be remembered always.
Kathleen enjoyed traveling and embraced every opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories. Among her favorite adventures were tours of Ireland, England, and Scotland, as well as cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. She especially cherished the special times she spent with her granddaughter, Erin, and never turned down an opportunity for a getaway together to Mohegan Sun, or a weekly lunch or dinner date, or shopping trip where they shared many happy memories and plenty of laughter.
More than anything, Kathleen loved being surrounded by family. She took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and found her greatest happiness in their accomplishments, milestones, and everyday moments together.
Though her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and in the enduring legacy of love, resilience, and devotion she shared throughout her life.
Kathleen’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Concord Hospital for the compassionate care and support they provided during her final days.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 23 from 4PM to 6 PM at the Waters Funeral Home 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 24th at 10:30 AM at St. Theresa Church 63 Winter Street, North Reading, MA.
Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in North Reading, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on behalf of Kathleen to Future Insight of New Hampshire or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
