Linda D. Hoyt

Boscawen, NH – Linda Doris (Kirkpatrick) Hoyt, 82, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, New Hampshire.

Linda was born July 11, 1943, in Framingham, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Lemuel Kirkpatrick and Doris (Gushee) Kirkpatrick.

Linda graduated from Penacook High School in 1961. She later moved to Salisbury, married Everett Robert Hoyt Jr., and had two children, a daughter, Wendy, and a son, Scott. Throughout her life, Linda enjoyed many outdoor activities, including softball, camping, snowmobiling, gardening, and bird watching. Most notably, she had a deep love for horses.

She often shared the story of when, as a teenager, her family moved from Framingham, Massachusetts to Boscawen, New Hampshire. She made the journey riding in the back of a truck alongside her beloved horse Brandy for over 90 miles!

Linda was known for her strong work ethic. In every role-banking, real estate, and law enforcement-she worked with diligence and professionalism. She passed these values on to her children and grandchildren.

Linda’s pride and joy were her grandchildren: William, Chantel, Connor, Isabel, Jillian, and, last but certainly not least, Edward. They all affectionately called her “Gram.” She loved sharing stories, pictures, and videos of her grandchildren with everyone she met-and was known to “quiz” listeners afterward to make sure they were paying attention.

Gram loved hosting Christmas parties and sleepovers for her grandchildren. Making sure to include everyone’s favorite things to eat. Following her retirement from the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office, she became a devoted chauffeur for her youngest grandson, Eddie.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Wendy Heath and her husband Brian, and her son, Scott Hoyt and his wife Nicole. She also leaves behind her six beloved grandchildren: William Hoyt and his wife Cailey of California, Chantel Hoyt of Virginia, Connor Heath of New Hampshire, Isabel Houghton and her husband Thomas of New Hampshire, Jillian Heath of New Hampshire, and Edward Hoyt of Utah.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, as well as her sister, Janice (Kirkpatrick) Rousseau of Framingham, Massachusetts.
