A Concord man is facing a felony robbery charge after he was accused of stealing from Market Basket and brandishing a knife during a confrontation with a store employee.

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Concord Police officers responded to the Market Basket on Fort Eddy Road, where a male subject was reported to have stolen items from the store. When a store employee confronted the man, he pulled a knife and fled on foot, police said. Responding officers sweeping the area did not immediately locate him, but they used surveillance footage to identify him.

They obtained a warrant to arrest Ronald Delgaudio, 54, of Concord.

The following evening, at approximately 10:35 p.m., officers located Delgaudio on South Main Street in Concord. Delgaudio was arrested and charged with misdemeanors of willful concealment, theft by unauthorized taking and electronic bench warrant, as well as felonies of robbery and two charges of criminal threatening.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Concord District Court on Thursday.

The incident was an isolated event that poses no further danger to the public, according to police.
