The donkey and elephant

At a pivotal time in American history, it seems like there remains a grand canyon of division in our society, mostly fueled by hyper-partisan talking heads, extreme political views and the 24/7 news cycle. In times like these, we need to remember Republicans and Democrats are not mortal enemies and actually do have a lot in common.

Both Democrats and Republicans:
• Love their country
• Love their families
• Agree the constitution is law of the land
• Agree we need to properly fund the military
• Want election integrity
• Want to end spam robo-calls
• Agree that AI does present major concerns and challenges
• Agree Social Security and Medicare need to be fully funded
• Condemn domestic violence
• Want a full reform of immigration
• Want lower prices on groceries, prescriptions and energy costs
• Agree that more affordable housing is needed
• Want lower taxes
• Want clean public drinking water
• Believe in supporting small local businesses
• Agree more needs to be done to address homelessness and drug addiction
• Agree that trying to acquire Canada and Greenland is unrealistic
• Agree that the Iran war was pointless
• Support Ukraine over Russia
• Agree that the VA be fully funded for our patriots
• Agree that nuclear proliferation is bad and needs to be reduced
• Hate black flies and potholes
• Cheer for the same teams
• And finally, both parties like pizza and beer
So, as you can see, the donkey and elephant can hang out together.
