Concord, NH – Michael J. Cunningham, longtime resident of Boscawen, NH, died June 2, 2026, in Concord. He was 86 years old. He is survived by two sons, Thomas and Christopher, and one grandson, Aidan. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Theresia, in 2022.
Michael was born in Spokane, Washington, on February 16, 1940. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1983. His service included two tours in the Vietnam war, where he earned the Combat Infantryman's Badge and two Bronze Star Medals. He went on to have a second career with the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.
Michael enjoyed traveling with his family and outdoor activities such as hiking, running, and bicycling. He also became an accomplished baker in his retirement years. He was loved by his family and was admired and respected by all who knew him.
