Solving the property tax problem
Granite Staters need solutions, not excuses. Our property tax problems are real, and we can make change in November by electing strong leaders to the State Senate.
In District 7, Democrat Rebecca Harned is the strong leader we need. I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca several months ago, when she expressed concern for high property taxes and affordability issues facing Granite Staters. High property taxes affect everyone in NH —working families, senior citizens, young people looking to start their lives, and renters who feel every increase in their monthly bill. At the state level, Rebecca recognized that NH’s Republican leadership is more concerned about cutting taxes for wealthy corporations, handing millions to private school families through an unaccountable school voucher program, and shifting the costs onto local property taxpayers. Every time Republicans cut their obligations to our communities, our property tax bills go up.
During our conversation, Rebecca recognized all of these problems at the state level, and spoke openly and knowledgeably about them. Her experience on the Kearsarge District Municipal Budget Committee is valuable, and her career in federal disaster preparedness will undoubtedly bring beneficial skills to State government.
Rebecca spoke about cutting wasteful spending like the school voucher program while generating revenue through creative solutions without an income or sales tax. That’s why I support Rebecca Harned for State Senate.
