Let’s see the proof
We were told that the reflecting pool was in poor condition due to the lack of maintenance by previous administrations, pointing to both the Obama and Biden years. What about the four years between?
For arguments sake, let’s agree the reflecting pool did need a upgrade. A normal consumer would do some research to find reputable companies specializing in pool maintenance and repair. We probably would get two or three to come in and examine the pool, make recommendations and provide a plan with a cost estimate. We would evaluate each to determine whether they are competent, offer a warranty and a reasonable price.
The president didn’t do that. He told us he knew a great pool guy he had used at many of his properties. How can we believe that? Check the pool company website and look at reviews. Turns out the “Pool Guy” incorporated days before he was awarded the no bid contract. No history with the president except for a large donation. I wouldn’t let him resurface my driveway!
Now they are trying to pin the problem on vandals. “They poured algae and fertilizer into the water causing it to turn green and cut the liner.” The DC area is under 24-hour surveillance show us proof of vandals in the pool. Now another no bid contract was issued for the repairs. Any guess who authorized it? Until there is confirmed proof not one more dollar of taxpayer money should be used!
